In many places, spring and autumn are the peak of decoration. It is inevitable that newly installed houses have serious indoor air pollution. When it comes to indoor air pollution, people first think of the harm of formaldehyde to human body. In fact, formaldehyde only accounts for a small part of indoor pollution sources, and there are more toxic and harmful substances that we can't understand, threatening the health of us and our family.

Where does decoration pollution mainly come from?

Furniture, paint, wallpaper, glue, ceramic tile, sanitary ware... All kinds of decoration materials may contain chemical pollutants. If the content exceeds the standard, it may cause harm to human body.

1. Benzene

Mainly from coatings, paints, adhesives, wallpaper, carpets, synthetic fibers and cleaners, solvents, etc. Benzene has a special fragrance, but it is a strong carcinogen. Long term inhalation will destroy the human circulatory system and hematopoietic function, leading to leukemia.

2. Formaldehyde

Mainly from plate, glue, wall decoration materials, mattresses, etc. Formaldehyde has a pungent smell. Exceeding the standard may cause nasopharyngeal carcinoma, sinus cancer and leukemia.

3. Radon

The main hiding place is granite and ceramic products such as ceramic tiles and sanitary ware. Radon is a natural radioactive gas, colorless and tasteless, just like "invisible smoke". It has become the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking.

4. Ammonia

Mainly from concrete additives and interior decoration materials, especially in winter construction, a large number of them exist in antifreeze. Ammonia is very soluble in water, which has fast effect on eyes, throat and upper respiratory tract and strong irritation. After short-term inhalation of a large amount of ammonia, there will be tears, sore throat, cough, chest tightness, dyspnea, dizziness, vomiting, fatigue and other symptoms.

5. TVOC total volatile organic compounds

Mainly from furniture, wallpaper, etc. Excessive inhalation will affect the central nervous system, causing dizziness, headache, drowsiness, chest tightness and other symptoms; It may also affect the digestive system, make people lose appetite and nausea, and seriously damage the liver and hematopoietic system.
